![]() ![]() If a member of this forum was willig to part with his just acquired X100 to have it tailored-dressed in Italy, i bet someone will do the same in order to break the X100 firmware free. So yes, I believe a proactive X100 community might get and alternate user claimed X100 firmware done, we just need critical mass and the attention of PTool or Magic Lantern creators: Among them intervalometer or time lapse controls a great tfeature built in into my Ricoh GRD2 firmware and sadly negated by X100 mechanical only release. Now besides the above mentioned video pro features my XT2i offers lots of other photo features the camera was capable of but the manufacturer denied us. ![]() bought to be hacked ! I did it in 20 minutes by following simple instructions with the Magic Lantern firmware (the how-to has even been translated to several languages). I now enjoy all of the above pro video features in my one-week old Canon EOS Rebel XT2. See product Canon 4266B003 - Canon ACK-DC60 AC adapter power adapter/inverter Black, find price of Canon ACK-DC60 AC adapter power adapter/inverter Black, Canon ACK-DC60 AC adapter power adapter/inverter Black ACK-DC60 AC adapter. Well the X100 offers all those but Fuji left out a pro video bitrate, AGC disabling, sound levels, or zebras just as Panasonic did with the GH1/GF1 cameras, or Canon with the Rebels/7D. ![]() I NOW lots of people crave for a compact VIDEO CAMERA with analog controls a great lens and high ISO performance. Well It wont happen with Fuji's consent, but once there are enough X100 out there and some of them make them into the "right" hands there is a good chance of users improving their cameras the way it happened with the GH1, GF1, 5Dmkii or XT2i. ![]()
